Swift County Historical Society

The Swift County Historical Society was founded in November, 1929. Its mission is to discover and collect any materials which may help to establish or illustrate the history of Swift County, preserve the materials, and to disseminate the information gathered from these materials to the general public through museum exhibits & archives, programs, tours, publications, and historical markers.

The Swift County Historical Society operates a history museum and research library located at 2135 Minnesota Avenue in Benson, MN.

The museum & research library are open year round from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm Tuesday – Friday and 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturdays from April 1-September 30. Closed on Saturdays from October-March. Closed Sundays, Mondays, holidays and holiday weekends.

There is no admission fee to tour the museum – donations are encouraged.
